For over ten years Educational Resources Unlimited has served families who are seeking alternative educational options or to maximize current programming for a struggling child, teen or young adult. We spend 40% of our time in the field, regularly visiting schools and programs both locally and throughout the country. The value in our service is our intimate knowledge of the integrity of every program and school we suggest.

We work with students from elementary through high school and postgraduation, and can provide referrals to supportive day/boarding schools for students with learning differences, emotional growth schools, therapeutic boarding schools and residential treatment centers. There are situations where a short term intervention such as a wilderness program, hospitalization or rehabilitation placement is needed as a first step. We support the student and family throughout this process. We also work with young adults (18+) who struggle with making the transition into adulthood, and can suggest a variety of postsecondary options. We have visited every program that we suggest, and our expertise is in helping families select the most appropriate school/program setting for their child.

therapeutic schools placementMarcia Kramer brings to Educational Resources her experience as a secondary school educator at independent schools in Manhattan and an adjunct college instructor, coupled with a history of entrepreneurial success. She founded and directed a private practice focused on college counseling and academic remediation for students with both language-based and non-verbal learning disabilities.

Marcia has an MA from SUNY Buffalo and a BA from Georgetown University. She is a member of Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC) and Higher Education Consultant Association (HECA). Marcia volunteers her services to College Summit in order to promote a collegegoing culture in schools lacking the resources to do so.

As an associate of Educational Resources Unlimited, Marcia provides students who may have non-traditional histories or challenges with choices and access to colleges that will meet their unique needs. Marcia counsels students who have successfully completed their high school experience with IEP’s or have graduated from specialized schools with therapeutic or learning support. For these students the college search can feel like a daunting experience. Marcia’s style of collaboration with both students and families helps them to find the “right fit” schools and demystifies the process.
